Online Consultations

From Wednesday 13th June you will be able to consult with the surgery online, avoiding telephone calls, delays in getting an appointment and receive a prompt response.

Saltash patients will benefit from a major NHS funding boost to improve local GP facilities.  The Health Centre is expanding into the old Register Office premises to provide more consulting rooms.

We have a Maritime and Coastguard Agency Approved Doctor qualified for ENG1 certificates - please check 'Clinics & Services' for more information.

Your doctor

Is the doctor you regularly see different to the doctor you are actually registered with? If so, you can easily re-register with your usual doctor - just ask the Receptionist.

Test Results
Open for enquires Monday-Friday 10-12am & 2-5pm. In order to answer your queries more quickly we have a direct option number to obtain test results.

Out of Hours
For urgent medical problems when the surgery is closed you can call NHS 111 on 111.

Extended Opening Hours

We are open on Monday evenings from 6.30 pm until 8.00 pm and Wednesday mornings from 7.00 am to 8.00 am.  Please note these appointments are for patients who are unable to attend during our normal opening hours.

Text Messaging

Missed appointments increase waiting times for all our patients.  To help improve our patient services, we will send you a FREE reminder via text before your appointment.  Should you no longer need your appointment early cancellation will enable us to provide care to another patient.  It couldn't be easier to register - simply provide your mobile phone number and a day or so before your next appointment you will receive a reminder detailing the date and time direct to your mobile phone.  Sign up now!  Never miss another appointment.

Shipping Medicals

Please contact the surgery on 01752 842281 with your name, address and contact details. Appointments are 30 to 50 minutes.

The fee charged is paid during the consultation (cash only):

  • ENG1 - £80.00
  • ML5 - £55.00
  • Drug and Alcohol screen with ENG (45 min appointment £35.00 arrangement and £72.00 lab fee) - Total £187.00
  • Danish Medical & ENG1 - duration 45 minutes - £80.00 + £15.00 = £95.00
  • Danish Medical - duration 30 minutes - £80.00

Please avoid exposure to loud noises for 16 hours prior to the appointment.

Please bring:

  1. A discharge book, passport or other certified photographic proof of identity and a driving licence.
  2. The old or current ENG1 - a new one cannot be issued without this.
  3. Spectacles or contact lenses if worn, plus spares. Those who wear contact lenses should not wear them on the day of the examination as they will need to remove them while they are tested.
  4. Any medications.
  5. Recent letters or discharge notes which relate to medical treatment since the last medical examination.
  6. A dental examination forms part of the medical and you will have needed to have visited a dentist within the last year or are advised to do so.

Should the examination require an interpreter please bring them with you. On arrival please report to reception and complete the ENG2 form. You will be given a urine pot - you will not need to produce a sample until you have seen the doctor.
