Medicine Rescue Pack Requests Update
We are conscious that our asthma patients may be feeling vulnerable and would encourage them to use NHS 111 online – symptom checker https://111.nhs.uk/ early if they develop shortness of breath or chest tightness or other symptoms suggestive of worsening asthma and possible coronavirus. Patients should follow their personal asthma plan in terms of increasing the use of their current inhalers. It is not sustainable to issue “just in case” rescue packs prior to becoming unwell; therefore the health centre will not be accepting these requests for medication unless specified by one of our doctor or nursing team.
National guidance stipulates that GP practices should not support patients trying to stockpile medicines as these actions may put a strain on the supply chain and exacerbate any potential shortages. This is non-negotiable and for this reason you must only order your usual supply of medications.

Like many businesses across the UK, we are closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and following the advice provided by UK health authorities.
The health centre is open only for urgent or necessary care but we ask that you do not come to the health centre if you have symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19). We are encouraging all patients to check the latest Government advice at www.111.nhs.uk before attending the health centre.
We have had to postpone most routine appointments at the health centre and we ask that you only attend if you do not hear from us directly that we are cancelling your appointment or converting to a telephone consultation instead. We have also suspended the booking of appointments online.
The health centre team are working very hard to ensure that patients can still access clinical advice where there is a need and ensure prescriptions for medicine is processed in time. However due to an increase in requests for advice we have to prioritise our workload to manage our patients need.
